On you about page issue - when wordpress is first installed it automatically adds a page named about. You might have renamed it already. You'll need to find it and change the page slug. Maybe you have it named Home - but in your list of pages, hover over the view link under each page till you see the url showing as about. Edit that page - Just under the title on the edit page you can edit the url. Change about to home or what ever you like, save, and update the page - or simply copy your real about content into that page and delete the about-2.
But that is most likely where you are getting the number being added after about.

Here's how to add the .html extension to your post's permalinks:
om/wordpre ss/hack/ad d-html-htm -or- php-at -the-end-o f-wordpres s-permalin k.htm
s a plug-in that'll allow you to add the .html extension to your pages:
s.co.u k/33 ~html- word press- perm alink- on- p ages-p lugi n.html
, my guess is that you have another About page created somewhere, so it's manually saving the second as About-2. Use and FTP program and see if you have another About us page on your server, and double check within the Pages admin side of WP to see if there's one there as well.
