getElementsByClassName and append to start and end

i'm using a js function to get an array of objects which match the getElementsByClassName call.
in my case, to return objects of images...

then foreach of the objects in the array, i want to append html code directly before, and directly after. ie.. find all images on the page with class "testme" then add <div class='somename'> before the image and </div> following the image.
