Replace the_content before shortcodes are run

There has to be a way to change the_content in wordpress before the shortcodes are run. Can anyone help with this?

The code below calls a class function - then the data echos and seems to work fine for multiple tested other plugins.

I also needed to have this work in the admin area in the visual editor, so I opted for a second init call to a different function that refers to if (is_admin()) { //do this a different way}else{//just return the whole buffer}.
