WIA Transfer method transfers files into BMP not JPG
I'm writing an application that uses WIA 1.0 (Windows Image Acquisition).
When attempting to transfer the image using the Transfer method, the files are huge. Although they are much smaller on the camera (JPGs), the transfer method turns them into BMP files (no clue why!).
Does anyone know how to make this transfer over as JPGs?

Where do I get 2.0?
Is is a Vista thing? It's not part of the standard XP install, is it?

Hi, I too am having trouble getting WIA 2 to scan across a jpg file instead of a bmp file. As I understand from Mar_FreeSoftware's solution, there is an option to select jpg rather than bmp. Can someone advise how to select the file type that is saved from the scanner?
Thanks!
Thanks!
see the accepted answer here, it is an example of transferring bmp as bmp, jpg as jpg and so on:
