The only thing you could do would be create a slipstream install disc with all the different drivers for your different hardware on it

Probably the easiest (not necessarily the quickest) way of doing it would be to ghost your system (if you still want to run Windows on it) then run SysPrep.

DON'T start your PC after you have run it as it will start the mini-reinstall process and have to go back to square 1.
Make a ghost of this system as well and run that on your new hardware. Make note of your XP Product key if you don't have it handy & if you are reusing XP don't use the same code.
If you want to keep the PC (as mentioned above) ghost the PC over with the original image and you should be away laughing once more.

Simple answer... if the hardware doesnt match, dont use a ghost image it will cause you problems as drivers wont be correctly loaded
