Question

I have over 1,000 corrupt JPEG images. It looks like the software JPEGSNOOP (written by Calvin Haas) will fix these. Are there any experts out there who have used this software to repair images?

I have over 1,000 corrup JPEG images.  I can track the corruption back to August 2008, but do not have any backup of this data preceding the corruption.  I think that the JPEGSNOOP.EXE software (writtent by Calvin Haas at Impulse Adventure) may fix these corruptions but I do not have the expertise to use this software.

Are there any experts out there who have successfuly used this software

Thanks for your advice - I tried PixRecovery, and, whilst it said that the image was recovered, it didn't really look any different - please see attachments.  I'll follow through on the forum links you sent.

If you read the exchange of conversation in the forum, it says that there are different cases for each corrupt file. I think it's one different case that the author haven't encountered yet.  

Have you tried using different application like ACDSee?

Many thanks for these suggestions (which I will follow through with).

I think that JPEGSNOOP may be the answer (as the examples on the Impulse Adventure website so closely resemble the issues that I am having).

I was hoping that there would be an expert out there who has successfully used this software to resolve JPEG issues and could talk me through the process I would need to correct the corrupt JPEG files I have....

I have same problem as you,,, but I have 51,500 corrupted images (jpeg missing file headers), I tried jpegsnoop but as yo i do not know how to use it. I successfully recovered some samples with JPEG Recovery Pro 5" but it requires manual selection.
So I'm looking for a fast (and hopefully free) jpeg repair toll being able to work in batch mode.

Thanks for pointing me in this direction - I downloaded the software and tried it, but it only recovered the first part of each picture
