I just did not understand if the new jpeg will be a result of the edited picture and a copy of the original picture or just only the picture but edited.
What about private folders, etc.
What is your take on this?

The easiest way would be to do a backup (look in tools) to an external hard drive on your source computer. After moving the HD to the new computer. install picasa first then navigate to the backup directory you created, double click on the Picasa icon and follow the directions.
