PCL driver. I think I found the answer, I had to deselect "Enable Advanced Printer Features". Does that sound right?

Browse All TopicsA client got a new scanner and sent us 3 files each 1MB in size. The first file was 25 pages and when spooled, took about 30 minutes to print and spooled as a 719MB print file. What would cause this and what can we tell this client to change in the future so we don't have to go through this.

Yes. I've heard that some drivers have a problem with EMF spooling (which you disable with deselecting "Enable Advanced Printer Features"). You can find more informaton on Microsoft's web site:

Are you printing your PDFs as image? This is a setting on the "Advanced" dialog that you can access from the main print dialog.
Are you using a PostScript or a PCL driver?
