The Adobe Acrobat Reader (free version) might not let you delete pages. As you noticed that the Adobe Acrobat Standard 6 (paid version) will delete pages.

Browse All TopicsI have a user running Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.1.0. The user opened a pdf consisting of a few pages. She would like to delete one of the pages but the delete selction is grayed out in the top menu bar. What can be done to correct this? I have another user with Adobe Acrobat Standard 6.0 that can view the pdf and can delete any pages in the file.

that's right.....with Adobe Reader is for only viewing PDF files......it cannot "edit" them.....for editing pdfs you need either Adobe Acrobat Professional or another PDF Editor, like http://www.foxitsoftware.c

Check the security settings in the document. You might have to do it from a copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro 8
