Using Adobe Acrobat v. 8 Professional for Windows. I can't find the way to set the font size, type and color in Text Box.

Hey Capt,
Understand that I am trying to edit the font color in a text box that I have created on the page of a pdf image. I cannot find the tool that you are describing. My Advanced Editing toolbar has the following: Select Object Tool, Article Tool, Crop Tool, Link Tool, 3D Tool, Movie Tool, Sound Tool, Touch-Up Text Tool and Touch-Up Object Tool. The Touch-Up Text Tool does not work in a text box. Any ideas?

It is actually in the View menu, Forms Toolbar...

Hey Capt,
The Text Box and the Text Field are 2 different things. While the direction that you gave me does not allow me to modify the font color in a text box, It does give me a work-around. I can use the Text Field option in the Forms menu to make notes on files instead of using the Text Box. For such a powerful program, it does seem kind of weak that one cannot modify the text color in a Text Box.

I guess Adobe like to keep their product range separate, the also publish InDesign and Illustrator which are PDF compatible and allow you to do this. Text areas in Acrobat are preserved for portability and Acrobat will probably always retain that static approach.
Many people use PDFs more so to ensure their Documents cannot easily modified (even though they can), so opening up Acrobat further may alienate that client base.
Sorry about the mixed messages I guess I simply assumed box=field rather than the bounding box of the text area.

I just hunted around for a solution myself and found this on another page. Unfathomable how complicated Adobe has made this. But, anyway, here's where you can learn how to change the font properties in Text Boxes (and avoid using the Forms):

Hi
Firstly make sure you use the Tools|Advanced editing => text field tool. If you right click on a text field you can select properties (double click will do the same) and the 'Appearance' tab allows you to change all font attributes.
