removing background from scanned file

Asked by alexL3 in Adobe Acrobat

Tags: Adobe, Acrobat Professional, 8

Hello everyone,

We just completed a projected where we scanned about 200,000 pages of documents run them through OCR in adobe, each page is about 18k, perfect.

The remaining 20k pages were pink so the background on the PDF is gray.  It also ends up taking 400k per page. That brings me to my question:  Would anyone know a way to remove the gray background ?

rescanning is not an option since the originals have already need destroyed.

any help is greatly appreciated
