Can he just right click on link and save as to desktop?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsA user has a new Dell laptop with XP SP3, Adobe 9.1, and IE7. Every time he opens a PDF link from a website (I tried multiple websites and files), it crashes whatever browser he uses.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader, disabled add-ons. installed IE8, reset all IE settings, did all Windows updates, and installed Firefox 3.0.8.
Event log shows EventID: 1000 and Source: Application Error when crashing from IE8.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

@ war1: Opening with Reader is an acceptable workaround. It would be nice for it to integrate into the web browser, but opening with reader will work.
@ Philip_Spark: He can just save it to the desktop then open it without errors, but a single click and automatic opening is preferred.

Hello mmmfg,
In Reader preferences, set the option to NOT open file in browser. Reader will then open the file.
Hope this helps!
