Browse All TopicsMy copies of Acrobat Pro 9 (bought with Adobe Design Premium Suite CS3) and Reader 9 hang/freeze after opening. I upgraded from 9.1 versions of each to 9.2, but am still having the same problem. I uninstalled, then reinstalled the 9.0 versions, and still have the same problem. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate on a Lenovo ThinkPad T60p with Norton 360 installed. Internet Explorer 8.
Adobe Acrobat worked fine for more than a year. Have no idea why it suddenly quit working.

I run Acrobat 8/9 on a T60 running XP no problem, I doubt it's a hardware issue, it may be a vista issue; Not sure what DDE Server has to do with hang/freeze on open. Did you try to disable the DEP mode http://www.realtime-vista. com/admini stration/2 007/04/ dis abling_dat a_executio n_preve.ht m.

To resolve graphics problems with Acrobat 9, try the following:
- Select Edit --> Preferences
- Categories: Single Page Display
- Uncheck the Use 2D graphics acceleration box
- Click OK
- Restart Acrobat
