I get to the stage where it asks me where I want it to install, then it says it is upgrading from v1.0.8.4990, and shortly afterwards just says "an error occured". It suggests that I might not be an administrator, but I am.
When I try to Uninstall Air, I get the same message. I've searched the PC for the Air programs, and they are nowhere. I think from memory that I did once install Air beta 3, but I might be wrong.
How can I convince Air that it is a new installation and not an upgrade?

As far as the install if your running Vista, try Right Clicking on the file and select Run As Administrator and see if the install goes through. If it is still installed on the system check the add/remove programs in Control Panel to make sure it's not in there. Also you could try the steps listed at this website: http://www.pcmech.com/arti cle/how-to -uninstall -adobe-air - windows/ after you do them if it still doesn't work check the add/remove area in control panel one more time, i've heard it re-appears there after attempting the cmd prompt uninstall method. Lastly if it still gives you the same trouble it may have been uninstalled incompletely previously in which case we could help you remove it manually from the registry which is probably where it is failing.
