Adobe 6 standard vs. 9 reader

Asked by burnt_clutch in Adobe Acrobat

I have a user that has Adobe reader 9 installed on his PC, but he needed the ability to edit .PDF documents so he was given Adobe 6.0 standard. As far as I can tell the file associations are set to Reader 9 to open .PDF's but there is a web application he uses and when he opens .PDF reports in the app it attempts to open them in Adobe standard 6. This sounds like I'll need to do a reghack, but would there be a registry setting in Adobe or I.E. to force all .PDF's opened from a web browser to open in Adobe reader 9?  The users O.S. is Windows XP Pro.
