Unable to save from Adobe Reader X embedded in IE to UNC paths

Hello,

We are having an issue saving files to UNC paths from the embedded Adobe Reader in Internet Explorer 9 on our Server 2008 Terminal Server. We use redirected profiles and redirected folders.

We are running the latest version of Adobe Reader X. We have disabled the protected mode as well.

When we try to save a copy of a PDF that opens up in IE with the Adobe plugin, we get an error message stating: "The disk you were saving to or the disk used for temporary files is full. Free some space on this disk and try again, or save to a different disk."

This happens when trying to  save to My Documents or Desktop. Both of these are redirected. However, if I map the redirected desktop location to a mapped drive, I am able to save from Adobe to it. So it appears the issue is only with saving to UNC paths.

We are able to save from all other applications and also from IE to redirected folders via UNC, this only happens with the Adobe Reader embedded plugin in IE.

So in a nutshell, we can save to shares that are mapped, but cannot save to any shares using UNC paths.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I have disabled the protected mode in Adobe Reader X and still have the same error. I also went into the registry and verified that the protected mode is disabled.

Hmm....maybe you just need to place your app folders in a trusted location and then enable protected mode as discussed in the link below.
