I am looking at adding some functionality to a web page which would provide the following:
-The user opens the web page
-The user loads a scanner attached to the PC running the web application.
-The user clicks a button within the web form that initiates the scanner to begin scanning the documents.
-Upon completion, the scanned documents files are loaded on the web page.
If the process must be changed a bit, that is acceptable. The idea behind this functionality is to integrate the scanning and storage of the document all within the web page itself.

The problem with this idea is that a web page normally does not have access to local resources, which includes the file system. For this to be seamless, you'll need to code an extension (one for IE, one for FF) to do the work, and it will need to hook into the TWAIN system under the Windows API.

If seamless is not your goal, then simply create a web form that allows for a file upload. As each document is scanned and saved, the user will upload that file using the normal means. See here for a tutorial on this method:
