Livelink error when trying to create a new document/version

I have a java livelink application that is failing to add a record to live link.

I am receiving the following error.

The issue is intermittent and does not always happen.

When it does happen we have a 0 byte file added to the live link system.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this error.

Error Message:

Status Code: 101603.
  Api Error: Error reading data stream from version..
  Session Error Message: Error adding version to 'filename.pdf'..
