Helvetica is a wonderful font. Arial is fine but unexciting in comparison. Unfortunately, it's Arial that's widely distributed with the Microsoft products. To get Helvetica, you will need to pay for it. There are a few free versions on the web, but mostly they are missing the elements that make Helvetica special - like kerning pairs, etc.
