The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Working on a problem for an elder friend.  Dimension 2400 machine running XP Home, factory equip. as original.   She just surfs and reads/does emails.

Her problem is:   when IE opens  she has to scroll a Lot  to read across a page, and the words are equally over sized.
I adjusted screen resolution  (17"monitor, XP style, Normal fonts under advanced button, 1124x768  is what she Wants)......but it did not correct the size of an explorer page.  Her scroll bars  are still  giving her approx.   Half way across  bottom  or  sides  to have to drag the scroll for the page to be viewed in total.    She wants to  only have to drag the scroll an inch or two for edges,   not  the other half of a headline !!
I'm stumped.
I checked  all the settings  in   Display,   all the settings  in  Int.Options,  all the settings in Accessibility (just to be sure she didn't have some sort of Blind access.  running).   And also tried to correct the text size in the dropdown menu on IE under View.   Nothing seems to  shrink this HUGE-ness  problem.

Her machine is so lightly used it has no virus' (I keep her cleaned and tuned),  and  this is just an Annoying  more than  Functional   hassle.
I'd  just like to satisfy an 81 y/o woman  so she can enjoy her PC again.
Thanks in advance for any  pointers  I may have missed.   I appreciate the nudge.  I have often thought about something so long,  I just get tired of trying to figure it out.
Someone with a fresh outlook, just  might  turn On my 'light switch"  and  it'll  get fixed in a jiffy.
Thanks again.
