After trying to design email templates in word or directly in outlook, I have found that Publisher is the best tool to use for this purpose. I have encountered 3 problems.
1. How to import already created themes (Colour Palette and fonts) into publisher. (This seems to be only compatible with word, powerpoint and excell etc.) It seems like the 2007 version of publisher is not quite as developed as these other new office versions, ie. the gui is not updated, and you don't have the same effect options, like adding a rounded image box with a reflection etc.
2. Image quality when I receive HTML emails sent from any office application. This was answered another place on this page, the solution seemed to be to save all images as 96 dpi, but still this didn't always seem to work. So the best solution was to go to Tools, Options, Web and set it to sample all images as 72 dpi. I didn't seem to have this option in Publisher.
3. Or corporate default font that we use on our website etc. is Lucida Sans Unicode, office doesn't allow this as a valid web font. So when I send an email from Publisher, this font gets converted to an image. That is not desirable! We tried to view the source of the Publisher template file, but didn't find this option anywhere (if this is an option we could probably rewrite the code)
Thanks
