fonts and flash cs3

I am having a problem with flash CS3 displaying a font in the IDE. I was given this font by a graphic designer. The font displays fine in photoshop cs3, the font is ITC Serif Gothic. The file that the designer sent me is a postscript type 1 outline font and they also sent me a font suitcase. I can see the font in flash as a selection in the properties window, it is listed as  Serif Gothic, i select it and try to place some text and i get nothing, i type and it is blank. The WYSIWIG display in the the font window in the properties window, it has that example of what the font looks like. This particular font i am having a problem with shows as a grey box. The rest of my fonts display as they should. I am on a intel mac running 10.5.2 and i am using suitcase fusion 12.1.7 to manage my fonts. No one has ever been able to give me a straight answer when i ask any questions about fonts. So i have never really learned what is what. I get a font, i install it and it works. I am at a real lose of how to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated! ThanksStart Free Trial
