How do I change my font from transparent back to black on Firefox 3.0?

My font has been transparent for the past several months and I have no idea how to change it back to black. I can't see what I am writing until I click out of the box I am writing in. I have gone to the options setting and messed around with it to change it back but nothing has worked.
