Free animated gif creator

I would like to add some 'movement' to my website through animated gifs.

Anyone know of any easy-to-use and FREE/shareware animated gif creators? What would be great is a util which can auto create transitions between images i.e. 3 text images, with fades between.

the top one will do what you asked the seconed one is a list of shareware/freeware stuff i dug up. to be able to do all this i would recommend using imageready from adobe or looking around

If you happen to have Paint Shop Pro, you already have AnimationShop, which is very easy to use. It is not freeware, though.

I use Animation Shop and it can do fades and much more. It includes many premade transition affects. If you have Paint Shop Pro as well, you can easily export your work and edit it in PSP.

I have this as well as AnimationShop. Both are good but I would say that AnimationShop (link above) has a simpler UI.

You might also take a look at the Coffee Cup GIF Animator (http://www.coffeecup.com/gif-animator/), which offers a 30-day free trial, after which it costs $34. It's a great little program, and easy to use.

Easiest software in the world, www.koolmoves.com. This also allows you to create banners.
