I've been recently searching for a POS Software to run a small cafe style restaurant. During the process we purchased a USB Cash Drawer, because we did not think that we needed one, we did not order a POS Printer. We are slowly learning now that most POS Software programs work with the POS Printer triggering the opening and closing of the cash drawer, but the cash drawer needs to be a Serial cash to connect to the POS Printer.
My question is as follows: 1) Am I right about the USB Cash Drawer and the POS Printer, that it has to be a Serial Cash Drawer to connect to a POS Printer? 2) Are there any POS Software out there that work primarily with USB Cash Drawers?(cause i'd like to use what I have) 3) If I cannot use my USB cash drawer is there a POS Software that you recomment that works well with a Serial Cash Drawer and a POS Printer, and 3b...is there a Cash and Printer that you recommend.
