How to test credit card processing after website goes live

I am completing a website project that has credit card processing.  I have done websites before but this is my first one with credit card processing.  We are using authorize.net AIM processing.  When we go live, I am wondering the best way to test any changes I may have to make.  Right now our authorize.net account is in Test mode so it's not an issue.  How have you handled testing after you go live?  Do you have another authorize.net test account to play with?  I also have to set up some kind of development area on the website so I can be testing and not mess up the live pages.  We are using classic ASP on Small Business Server 2003.
