adding a popup window to a PHP script on a text

Hi Team,
I wish add a pop-up window with my eshop site terms & conditions, pooped by clicking on a text link in the site registration page.
The site is php script e-commerce
The following java script do the job in html web page:

In html page a statement like "terms & conditions" might be used as the popup text link.Clicking.

PHP:
php definitions I used:
ENTRY_I_READ => "I hereby confirm that I read the site"
ENTRY_CONDITIONS => "Terms & Conditions"
ENTRY_CONFIRM => "and am accepting them"

I wish add the popup link to be applied on the words: "Terms & Conditions"
How can I add the java script to the php file in order to execute the popup instruction?

thank you for teh script,
i try the script, as defined by you above, on an independent html file www.bivar-2.com/popuptest_e.html and it works fine (by ignoring for the time being cosmetics: the popup window size, the needs to use pointer for use in different languages and the lack of underline).

when inserting the same line to the create_account.php
file: www.bivar-2.com/eshop/create_account.php
(or same when in english: http://bivar-2.com/eshop/create_account.php?language=en)
when i click on the popup text link "terms" the link is directing the user to the default.php page and no popup is in function!.
The relevant code is kindly below.
Do you have any idea why this happen?

hi
i changed the script to support the text "terms" in different languages and add underline <u>.
the modified script is below.
however, didn't find yet why teh popup is not in function +required to use a pointer (when the popup link will function) to address to different "terms" files in different languages.

the javascript that contains the openpopup function is not present on this page, so it just goes to the default link "#" wich means 'top of main page.'

You need to add the javascript to this page.

highly appreciate,
1. please define the javascript that contains the openpopup function and let me know where in the page should I add it.
When I'll add it - does the popup will function or the link will redirect me to the right page in another wiindows - as it happens now.
2. Please let me know which SW you're using to analyze the code - as it is looks that you get an error message from the editor.

Please be clear as I am new to php and do the site design for fun and not as a job (luckily i managed so far to generate site and most of teh eshop functions).

ok, try this... Instead of using the javascript function, we can just add the code to the link that you want to open a pop up.

So, for your terms link:
<a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://www.bivar-2.com/termseng.html','terms');">Click For Terms</a>

Just do that for each link you want to open in a new page and change the link location in the window.open function.

There are other things you can specify in the window.open function if you want:
status:  The status bar at the bottom of the window.
toolbar:  The standard browser toolbar, with buttons such as Back and Forward.
location:  The Location entry field where you enter the URL.
menubar:  The menu bar of the window
directories:  The standard browser directory buttons, such as What's New and What's Cool
resizable: Allow/Disallow the user to resize the window.
scrollbars:  Enable the scrollbars if the document is bigger than the window
height: Specifies the height of the window in pixels. (example: height='350')
width:  Specifies the width of the window in pixels.

But, those are not necessary.  You can read more about it here if you want:

I am using Firefox instead of IE and Firefox has an error console under the Tools menu that will show you your javascript errors.

can we stick to teh previous method please.
I feel we are just one step from completing it +the new method I'll haev a problem with teh different languages as the link refernce to english and it isn't solve the needs to use a pointer to termseng.html, termsspanish.html etc.

I will follow your link for training as well but for now I am eager to finish with the popup issue

Yes, that is correct, if you insert the javascript at the top, between the <head> </head> tags, that will work.

the popup is function but.. the main screen move to the default screen and doesn't keep the

You would just store each site in a variable:

$termsEng = 'http://www.bivar-2.com/termseng.html';
$termsOther = 'http://www.bivar-2.com/terms.html';

Then based on whatever it is you are using to determine which lang, you subsititue the variable in the openpopup funciton call.

I can't  hold it at create_account.php as this page is used for all languages.
if to replace the www.bivar-2.con/termsenglish.html with a variable - where to hold teh variables and with what and how can I replace the www.bivar-2.termsenglish.html with.

I guess I can use "filenameeng" and "flemnamespanish" by using the terms filenamelanguages in creat_accounts.php and in each language page I will refer filenamelanguage to the related file in the required language.

There should be somewhere in your script where the script determines the language... That is where you do it.

I'm assuming your script has some code similar to this somewhere:

if ($language == 'en')
{
    # do english stuff
}
elseif ($language == 'jp')
{
   # do japanese stuff
}
etc...

That is where you have to define that variable.

looked for such string and didn't find - what I find, when searched for <($language> is a  
define_language.php file in which I see a language array (below) -.
This array is using pointers to other files etc.
Meanwhile I solved the problem in another way - I link the user to the same <terms_eng.html> file.
 I inserted at the top of the file flags for the users to select their languag - not a very  'clean' solution but it is good enough for an "expert" like me - first ever making a php site.

Just for my curiosity - does the define_language.php file and teh language array is whre I should dig and fine where to teh pointers go?

So far I solved the popup issue - it works fine... thanks to you

P.S I have a more serious problem I like you kindly to take a look at.
I will close this issue and open a new questions for you to get the points.
The other issue is at the "categories" field at the top left of the page.
Click please on the sample category "Discus" - you will see below the sun-categories such as "Red Line 1" etc.
This is fine and works well.
If you'llmove to the Hebrew page by clicking on the flag (the right side in the middle) - you'll move to the same page in Hebrew (no - you don't have to learn hebrew now). The page reversed and the left is now at the right side.
So the "Categories" menu moved to the right side.
You can recognize teh sub-categories by the number of products in each: in "red line 1" are (15)
so you may see nnnn-1 (15) and below it nnnn-2 (which was "red line 2) etc.
As you may see - all the sub categories are defined with 4 charecters only !!
When I give a category name with more than 5 charecters all teh charecters from 5th and on are shrinked to one non-readble "Gibrish" sign.
My question is: where the length of this field - teh subcategories is defined.
Possibly there I can try find out why this happen.
As mentioned I'm sending this very same question as a new question.
