The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Invoice Database & Paypal payments

Asked by patchnetdesign in E-Commerce, MySQL Server, Payment Processing Recommendation and Integrating

Tags: asp & mysql, Internet Explorer 7

I am a website designer, and i have taught myself everything i know, and every now and then i try and master a new part of website design. I want to upgrade my brothers window cleaning website to enable online payments. In the past i have just used the standard paypal website payments which i have intergrated into sites, but i want to do something a little more complicated this time, and i want to know weather its possible or if its just a plain headache and not a brainwave i've had!

I want the customer to go online to the site, and type in their Invoice number, which then searches the database, and finds the invoice number and details, but before revealing the invoice details, the site would ask for a security question (i.e whats the first line of your address/ home telephone number), and then it would check the database on that invoice number to check they have entered the correct security details. If they are correct, they would then be reminded of their invoice number, date, their address & the description of the invoice including the amount. They then click PAY, which is obviously where the paypal payments takes over - somehow reading the database or the page for the amount to be paid and then paypal asks for that amount on the usual paypal payment page and thus the customer has paid his bill.

(I.E MR SMITH at 1 any street, anytown  has a invoice in door for £15.00, but because he is hardly around and is always working, he wants to pay online. Going to our website he can quickly pay his bill by simply entering the invoice number and some security details and then obviously his credit card details on paypal.)

I think it might be possible, but i just need a gentle nudge in the right direction please on where to start and how to go about it! I'm a very quick learner and have had experience on various website building projects
