I wonder if there is any way to make my website appear in the first page( if not first one).  How can I do that what do I need to do in geocities or yahoo album to make it appear in the first page of google or yahoo search result?

If there is a link to your website on an indexed site you will get indexed eventually, failing that submit your URL to http://www.google.com/addurl.html

Submitting your URL isn't really worthwhile.  As PeteLong noted, if you have even one good incoming link, your site will get indexed.  If you don't have one (or more), your site is unlikely to get indexed and even if it does, it will be nowhere to be found in the results pages.

The SEO-guy tutorial is a good one, but I prefer www.seo-blog.com/tutorial.php, which was put together by Michael Duz, EE's top SE expert.

you might want to start with keywords. What keywords, when typed into Google, do you want to pull up for? They should be niche keywords unless you're planning on spending a lot of money or time.Then it's a matter of on-site optimization, much found in the above tutorial, then a natural-looking link-building campaign to place you above the rest. I guess I'm giving you an overview to go along with the tutorial.

i agree with weikelbob about keyword. It is very important for you to learn what keyword you want people to search in order to see your site. Again, for picture wise, the alt text and image file name is very important too.
