My reason is: ok I was told that through a google scam where I bought the website and a couple traffic add ons that the only way to keep them from scamming me further was to remove the web server from the host. This is foriegn to me?

I'm assuming that you bought a domain name and some hosting through a company that is basically ripping you off with 'we'll get you lots of traffic' offers?
Yes, you'll need to move your domain name elsewhere. The problem is, without knowing the domain name, it's very difficult to give you additional information. You may not actually 'own' the domain. They may have it in their name, and you were just paying them to use it.

All my research into these google things lead me to scam watch and cautionary tales.
The initial cost seems low a few dollars, but then they start to take money out of your account monthly.
As they say, if it seems too good to be true then it probably is.

All makes for sobering reading
These things tend to pull you in with low entry costs ie $1.99 for the package, but you soon find that suddenly $60 a month starts to disappear from your bank account for surreptitious running costs etc.
And some bloke in the Philippines is lapping it up.
