The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

How do I use code to determine traffic of redirected domains?

Asked by freespirit in Miscellaneous Web Development

Hello

I currently own a number of domains. I have each one pointing (redirected) to one central existing web site which advertises the typed-in domain as "for sale". I use the DNS control panel at the registrar of each to direct each one to a php page at the central site, which reflects the typed-in domain name within its contents. I am PHP-challenged :) so this in itself was a feat for me. The purpose was to avoid creating a separate page for each domain as time for me is limited, as is space on my host server.

As an example, if you typed in http://www.customjob.com it would be redirected to http://www.domainsdiscounts.com/makeoffer.php?domain=CustomJob.com&minimum=$35.00&asking=$95.00 (as set up via the DNS at the registrar)

However, given the above, what would be the best way using either PHP or any other language/script to determine traffic of each typed-in domains used to get to the destination? I am trying to determine the type-ins or traffic of each one gets. Someone had suggested doing a separate page for each one, with a counter for each. But this is not practical because of the number of domains. A page each would be counter-productive in terms of time and disk space etc.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance.
