  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Auto search??

I'm trying to build an automated update system. I was thinking of using php to check and then update a text file on someones local disk. I have a couple of questions about how it would work.
1) If I get a user to manually enter the location of these files then how woul I get the php script to use that on loacl machine rather than trying to search the web server. (if that makes sense)
2) If it is possible, how could I get php to search the local computer for specific file names?
