The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Transforming xml in ASP.NET

Asked by mleopard in Miscellaneous Web Development

Experts,

I have 2 issues:  Positioning the transformed results and appending multiple tranformations into one page.

Please show any examples in vb.net.  Thanks

1.  I am trying to display transformed xml in an ASP.NET, using all code behind, and I can't seem to get it to work unless I use the xml server control or response.outputstream.  Does anyone know how I can display the data any other way?  If I use the outputstream, then I don't know how to position the results on my page.  Using the server control is great for positioning, but I have a problem with transforming multiple calls.  I will give you an example so that this will make sense.

Ex.  Suppose that I have an aspx page and at the top of this page I have a checkboxlist control with say 10 checkboxes (All are labeled 1-10). And next to that I have a save button.   Now what I need to be able to do is to select one of the checkboxes, click save and display the data for checkbox 1.  What is happening is that I am using the value of the checkbox as a parameter in my xsl, thus my transformation comes back correctly, however, what happens when I click 1 and 2?   I only get the results for 2.  I need to be able to loop through the checkboxlist, determine which are checked and then fire the transformation for each and display all on the page together.  Unfortuneately I am stuck.  I hope this makes sense.  Any help is greatly appreciated and if you need more information please let me know.
