Text rotation without the bold

Greetings, I am trying to rotate some text using an IE filter.  However, the text being rotated is bolding on me.  Does anyone know of another way to rotate text, or to counteract this effect to get the font weight back to normal?  Here is the HTML I am now trying:

<div style='width:20px; height: 20px; filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.BasicImage(rotation=3);'>test</div>

No.  This is the full HTML file:

I put another string in to compare the two texts.  On my screen, the one being rotated is much bolder.

Are you overriding the standard browser font display somehow on your local computer?

No.  IE 6 on XP Pro.   Do both of the fonts for the text look the same to you as far as font-weight goes?

I did this to compare:

<div style="FILTER: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.BasicImage(rotation=3); WIDTH: 20px; HEIGHT: 20px">test</div>
<div>test</div>

Now there might be the slightest bit of pixel bleed going on depending on the quality of your monitor. I actually took a screenshot of the browser output and looked at it in photoshop very closely, I even counted the pixels for each letter and it's exactly the same. Could you do something similar and verify?

I found out how to fix it.

If I add a background color on the div it fixes the problem, as the font get anti-aliased to the background color.  If there is no background color, not only does the font not get anti-aliased, but it actually replaces the anti-aliased pixels with the font color, giving the appearance of a much heavier font.
