The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Web Form or What?

O.k. Lets give this another try!

A while back I made a simple "form" using MS Access 2000. The point of the "form" was to allow various employees of my company to order supplies via the company network instead of via a paper form sent throught the company post office. After a few months of hard work I showed this "form" to my supervisor and the big wigs on top!

Sadly I was told that Access 2000 does not preform well via a wan and that the IT dept. would used my "form" to create something that would ... Well months have past and nothing has come forth! My department needs to enter the 22nd centuary!

I need to creat a simple form that can be accessed via the Internet or my company intranet...the data can be save but does not need to be! At the very least the data can be sent to an email. I am by no means a programmer so whatever is suggested must be easy to learn and have lots and lots of documentation!

I have tried MySQL & PHP and MS SQL but the learning curve is too high...A database is not important the method of interaction (form) is and of course cost is a factor as well as I am doing this on my own with no help from my employer.

I am willing to try every viable solution but time is running out!
