I have a webserver in java platform, which is configured for both http and https pages. User login pages are done in https. I want to inform the http pages that the user is logged in.
Which is the best way to do that?
I tried the database update, ie i updated the IP address & login name with the date in database. so in http pages it checks for the same ip. but in internet, u cannot guarantee the IP..right?
another trial was with global application bean. i updated the bean in https, but the update was not reflecting in the http side.
then i thought of passing the parameters in customized encoded way, i felt thats bit good, but i dont know how much secure is that,..
Please guide me , if any suggestions or options,.then most welcome.
Rgds,
Jim

Hi jimaricat,
Why not set a session variable where you set for instance a boolean flag that the user is logged in. When the session expires, the flag is automatically gone.
Good luck...
