The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Html Tidy, has some serious problems? Or do I.

I have had a few bad experiences with html tidy.  It sort of reminds me when windows would do something for you.
Something I thought was a better way. Like an update that caused your printer to never work again.

So, I have been using WAMP while designing a site. Works great.
I had disabled tidy  due to the last site I built being F#*# up by "TIdy".

So today I was working on some template.
Everything on the pages were where they needed to be. And all looked good while viewing them in the big 4
browsers with the last 4 versions of said browsers.    For some reason, I enabled "tidy"  "Today I'm derailing you" as I call it.
Then I viewed  the site, browsed a few pages. And then I noticed the center was now the left and so on.

And yes Tidy saves the pages over the originals on view.  Yes, I have BAKs. But really do I want to go backwards.

I guess my question is.
Does any one else feel the same. And how important is it to be 100% correct. And who is to say what 100% is.
Do these people that make the ISO for html.
Even design web sites anymore?
Or are these people programmers that have diagrams and books in there office.
And every thing is done in theory with designs that in theory are wrong. But look perfect  in the real world?
And does anyone agree?

Selvol

PS. I am aware of altering the config for tidy, and am able to fix the pages.
