Internationalization - Hindu-Arabic numeral expectations

In an international e-commerce site with product translations in Arabic, will Arabic readers expect "Hindu-Arabic" numerals in prices and order forms, or can I reasonably expect them to understand the "Arabic" numerals that we use in the west?

Many arabs use the standard "Arabic" numerals that we are familiar with. It is the standard form in north africa.
I think that you can assume that whoever uses the internet and e-commerce sites is at least familiar with western scripts and numerals.

That's just as well.

I wonder how well Hindu-Arabic numerals are supported by the various programming languages - e.g. the C/C++ locale. I expect you'll need to render Arabic numerals and then get offsets into the string "`abcdefghi" to convert to Hindu-Arabic. It would be interesting to see a shopping cart implementation with this.

It was naive of me to expect EE to suppport UNICODE.

They were supposed to be the central MidEast numerals from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_alphabet#Numerals "`abcdefghi"
