The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How Do I Use a Service like Rent a Coder When It Takes Me Longer to Spec out the Job and to Do It?

Asked by photoman11 in Miscellaneous Web Development, Miscellaneous Programming, Internet Search Engine Optimization

My business is a how-to photography website. I've started from scratch and have had it nearly five years. It currently has a respectable level of traffic. My challenge for the last four years has been trying to physically do everything that needs to be done, myself.

I would like to use a sub-contracting service like rent a coder or something similar. My concern is that over 90% of the things I do involve a knowledge of running my particular business. A lot of my workload involves needing to do programming activities (which I am awful at).

I've discussed this with several website owners and the impression I now have is such detailed specifications are required by these services before doing anything that I feel it would take me just as long to spec out the project as it would for me to do it.

Can anyone either support or shoot down this concept I have? I truly want to offload some of my work load, but am struggling with how to do it for the above reasons. I would truly appreciate any input and especially the experiences of those of you who have done this.

Thank you very much for your assistance.
