Duplicated web site content

I have several web sites with almost identical content, but when sales are made the order is dealt with by different representatives in the country where the web site relates. Please see:
www.ethosportugal.com
www.ethosbulgaria.com
www.ethosaustria.com
www.healthmatters247.com
there are many more due to come on line soon.
I have heard that web sites with duplicated content may suffer when indexed by Google and wondered if this is true. If so, is there a way I can avoid damaging the Google ratings for each site?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Hi

Please have a read on what the google guys say about this. (even this piece speaks about duplicate info on the same domain)

This link discusses your question even more clear, maybe the 301 option is the way to go.

COBOLdinosaur is right, thanks for the summary.

Since ALL your site have a english landing page with exactly the same content Google ranking will suffer deeply, my guess is go for 301.

Thanks for your help, I am still trying for the best result. As each site has a different heading Portugal, Bulgaria, Austria etc 301 wouldn't work. Each country's representative deals with questions and purchase via their own country's web site, I wonder if just having a different header banner on each site is sufficient for them to be treated as individual sites by Google.
