Someone has placed an index.php file in a public folder of one of my sites (the folder is named contact, ironically) with a link to a google maps location within the code. The location is in Palo Alto (CA).
Anyway, I don't know if this is a game or what, but I'd like to know what do the google parameters given in the URL stand for:
What does the Key parameter mean??
The URL is this one:
http://maps.google.com/map
Is this a new kind of spam?? Is someone who is bored and has placed this in my site??

I would recommend reporting the problem to Google for investigation:

There is an option "Report a My Maps violation". They will hopefully be able to trace who registered your directory and obtained the key.
You should probably change your FTP password as well since somebody seems to have gained access to your web server directory and uploaded the index.php as you stated.
Someone has gained FTP access to your site and edited one of the pages to add a reference to their Google Maps API Key. This seems pretty stupid to me because it will be easily traceable to their domain name and Google probably won't approve of what they have done. If you want to add google maps to your site you have to register your domain with google and they give you a key in return to insert into your HTML page.
