Any way to sort mails in Hotmail and Yahoo and use rules to move them to folders.

There is no specific sort feature in Yahoo, unless you mean filter.  Here is how to filter emails in Yahoo to folders

Thanks a lot for the reply but when i go to hotmail on the fields i dont get the ability to click on them to sort as mentioned in the link.?

The filer works fine but is there a way to move all that are existing in the inbox to the relevent folders.

Are you using Windows Live Hotmail and Internet Explorer?  Sort by Date and other options are available from the pull down arrow.  Click on Switch to Classic and check if you see the column headers to sort by.

The filter is for new mail, not existing mail.  Filter does not act on existing mail like Outlook does.

You can check the box next to the emails and select Delete.  But there is no one button in Inbox to delete all mail.

Using outlook/outlook express I have a complete set of rules... I drag all of the hotmail files from the hotmail inbox into my primary inbx..  ... The I run the rules manually.. as I have over 200 rules it takes a while to select them all to run the rules now.. but that is how I do it.. rules do not normally work for http mail. if you leave the mail as http mail then you have to set the rules on hotmail or yahoo mail as necessary.

I use ypops! to download my yahoo httpmail as normal pop3 mail and the rules work as expected when each email arrives.

I've been doing this for a LONG time when they both (hotmail/yahoo mail) had limited storage space
