The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to keep the index of my blog up-to-date?

Asked by asgarcymed in Search Engines, Internet Search Engine Optimization, Blogs

I am a beginner in Blogging and SEO subjects.

I have a Google Blogger/BlogSpot's blog.

I manually submitted it at:

Google:
http://www.google.com/addurl.html

Yahoo:
http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html

Live/MSN/MoreOver:
http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx

Alexa:
http://www.alexa.com/site/help/webmasters

GigaBlast:
http://www.gigablast.com/addurl

Abacho:
http://www.uk.abacho.com/anmelden.html

Exalead:
http://www.exalead.com/search??definition=submitYourSitePage

IceRocket:
http://www.icerocket.com/c?p=addblog

Whenever I post new content, I do blog pings through:

http://api.moreover.com/RPC2
http://api.my.yahoo.com/RPC2
http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2
http://ping.feedburner.com/
http://ping.syndic8.com/xmlrpc.php
http://ping.weblogalot.com/rpc.php
http://pinger.blogflux.com/rpc/
http://rpc.pingomatic.com/
http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping
http://rpc.weblogs.com/RPC2
http://services.newsgator.com/ngws/xmlrpcping.aspx
http://www.blogpeople.net/servlet/weblogUpdates
http://www.wasalive.com/ping/
http://xping.pubsub.com/ping/

I submited SiteMap (in this case, SiteMap = Feed = atom.xml/rss.xml) at Google WebMaster Tools, Yahoo Site Explorer, and Live Search WebMaster Center.

Google and Yahoo are OK (index is frequently updated; if I do site:my-blog.blogspot.com I can see all pages/posts are indexed).

However, Live/MSN/MoreOver only indexed the root page (/). My blog is authenticated by a meta tag and Live Search WebMaster Center does not report errors...

=> => What can I do in order to have all pages/posts indexed on Live/MSN/MoreOver ?

On Google and Yahoo I submited 2 sitemaps:

http://my-blog.blogspot.com/atom.xml (only few/more recent posts)

http://my-blog.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=300 (ALL the 300 posts)

=> => Other doubts I have:

*) How to keep the index of my blog up-to-date? - Blog Pings?; SiteMap? - What is the truth meaning of Blog Pings and SiteMap?

*) Periodically re-submit my blog to search engines does matter?

*) What is (are) the most important submission type? - General Web Search Engines (like Google, Yahoo, MSN/Live, Ask)?; General Blog Search Engines (like Google, Ask, IceRocket, Technorati, Sphere)?; General Feed Search Engines (like Plazoo, Feeds Farm, FeedPlex)?; General Web Directories (like Dmoz)?; General Blogs/Feeds Directories?; Social Bookmarking submission (like del.icio.us, furl, digg)?
I feel lost between so many options!...

Thanks in advance.
Best regards.
