Hi

Have you disabled the toolbar on the menu?

Aside from that, I'd install it again and then uninstall it again.

Let me know if you don't see the menu item.

follow these instructions.

You can easily uninstall the Ask Toolbar using the instructions below:

   1. Close all open Web browsers
   2. From the "Start" menu in Windows, select "Control Panel"
   3. Select "Add/Remove Programs"
   4. Select "Ask.com Bar"
   5. Click "Change/Remove"

Now just follow the simple instructions and the Ask Toolbar will be uninstalled. Should you reopen your Web browser and still see the Ask Toolbar, you may need to restart your computer for the uninstall process to be completed.

And more >>

To add a toolbar, click Tools, then Toolbars from the Command bar or right-click on the Command bar to see a list of toolbar options. You can activate or deactivate a number of Internet Explorer toolbars from this menu option. You can even Lock the Toolbars to make Internet Explorer 8 show the same toolbars each time you use the browser.

To add or remove Add-ons, click Tools from the Command bar and select Manage Add-ons from the drop-down menu. From this menu you can view and manage a list of different Add-on Types you've got installed in the browser. To add more, click on the Find more providers... option at the bottom of the window. To delete an Add-on, highlight the one you wish to remove and select Remove, or select Disable if you wish to leave it installed but make it inactive.

Hey ..

Beware of some malware and virus problems associated with Ask:

Don't mean to cause a bunch of fear, but it's a possibility.

i downloaded the program, installed it and ran the scan.  Unfortunately, it did not get rid of the ASK toolbar, and also it did not find any malware or other programs.

I also tried the method from the control panel of removing the ASK toolbar, but it is still there.
Also i tried the method of right clicking on the top taskbar and unchecked the Menu item, Although the ASK toolbar does not show when I right click, but I see it it as one of the tabs.
Looks like one very hard customer, not sure how it got there in the first place. Thanks.

OK ..

In IE8, in the upper right hand side of the screen, left of the help question mark, is a drop down box called tools.  When you go down the menu to Toolbars and left click, you don't see the Ask toolbar listed?

Also, right click again on the Tool drop down and select Manage Addons.  You don't see anything in there about Ask?

Let me know.
