help with motion guide with text in AS3

I am attempting to align dynamic text along a path.

i have a sample of how to do this in http://www.peterjoel.com/Samples/ (follow the text on a path link)
it works fine but when modified into as3 code the text will only align to the path if you un-tick 'align to path' in the tween options.

What i'm looking for is either a way to get this to work or a work-around/alternative way of achieving the same affect. (AS3 is required)Start Free Trial
