Crap, I totally forgot - I wrote a complete rundown of this image swapping business AND some of the problems I encountered that Adobe was able to address with me. It's up on my blog: http://www.tomauger.com/blog/2009/01/26/flash-cs4-motion-tween-weird-symbol-swapping/

Enjoy.

is that why the alpha was missing as well

so if you make a layer for each image swap action it will work in cs4
I dont want to go back to cs3 as the 3d stuff in cs4 is way better you see
Yes - so the Alpha is still available just in a slightly different spot.

Yeah, if as far as layers go, the easiest is to simply make a new layer for each image swap. I didn't like to have to do that (imagine if you have 30 images to swap - that's 30 new layers!) which is why I got into it with Adobe. So there IS a better way, but it's a bit more work and you have to follow the steps carefully.

So in a nutshell, if you are only swapping a handful of images, then just create a new layer for each!

I got it working by just creating a motion tween on a new layer in one keyframe then inserted a new keyframe at the end of the tween and that worked but it is a bit longer insn't it lol
