image swape and fade in flash cs4
I was following a youtube demo to do an image to image fade and it fails in flash cs4 as I cannot see alpha in the properties panel and the motion tween seems to be different in cs4

is that why the alpha was missing as well
so if you make a layer for each image swap action it will work in cs4
I dont want to go back to cs3 as the 3d stuff in cs4 is way better you see

Yes - so the Alpha is still available just in a slightly different spot.
Yeah, if as far as layers go, the easiest is to simply make a new layer for each image swap. I didn't like to have to do that (imagine if you have 30 images to swap - that's 30 new layers!) which is why I got into it with Adobe. So there IS a better way, but it's a bit more work and you have to follow the steps carefully.
So in a nutshell, if you are only swapping a handful of images, then just create a new layer for each!

I got it working by just creating a motion tween on a new layer in one keyframe then inserted a new keyframe at the end of the tween and that worked but it is a bit longer insn't it lol
