CFMAIL bulk email sending

Hi all,

Emailing my subscribers... at the moment I query my database and loop each record then send out an email to each using CFMAIL tag.

My questions are...

1) what happens when my client base grows, could the above method fall on its face, say if I had thousands of emails?    

2) Last, I want a loading message, i.e. "10% done" possible? (cfflush maybe?)
