Querying greater than/less than dates in Coldfusion

Asked by diecasthft in ColdFusion Application Server, Databases Miscellaneous, ColdFusion Studio

Good Afternoon. I have a dilhemma that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I have a Coldfusion page and it connects to an Oracle DSN. In that Oracle table, I have some fileds containing dates, one for date tasked, and one for date complete related to projects. I'm trying to create a query, that I will eventually use in Coldfusion Report Builder, but for starters, I need to get my query correct. I would like a query that gives me all of the projects within a certain date span. For instance, show me all of the projects from 10/1/2009 thru 10/27/2009. My web page had two text fields that a user can enter, and the functions work, but the query does not give the correct result. I also must note that the dates in my database are stores as a varchar rather than the date format. Can this be done?? Thanks Alot!!!!
