Menus started working on their own. I didn't want to run "fix" because I have sub-domains, and "fix" messes them up.
Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Browse All TopicsAn old site was hacked, and while republishing it the menu system, created years ago in MS FrontPage (using WEBBOT), got lost. I can see the menus perfectly on the local copy, but I can't seem to get MS Expression Web to publish it - the online copy at http://www.jewishstudies.o
I know that the menus (and webbots) are not officially supported anymore, but expression web has been keeping them functional since I started working with it (I read that the code to work with the webbots is in Expression Web - it just isn't available to the end user). I also know that I could create a new menu system in one of many different ways - I just don't want to do that now (after spending 2 hours cleaning up the site for the hack, I just want to say ENOUGH and move on to other work now). I have my original frontpage disks, but it is not installed right now, and I don't want to install it if possible.
How can I force the local copy with the accurate menu structure to appear?

It sounds like the FrontPage Server Extensions might be corrupted. Some hosting companies have a "repair FrontPage Server Extensions" in the control panel - if yours does, see if that helps. (Do not remove the FPSE)
Then in Expression Web, go to Site - Recalculate Hyperlinks. One this is done - publish your website. (You might try this first to see if this fixes the problem before the repair FPSE, but the repair FPSE will not hurt)
