The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

FrontPage Server Extensions:  Error #80002 Message:  System exception:  access violation

Asked by slimjim28 in FrontPage-Expressions

While using the "find" feature within FrontPage 2003 to locate a string of text throughout the complete site (2000 pages), FrontPage basically locks up and the following error messages are displayed in the application log.  Up until recently this has not been a problem.  When this problem occurs none of the web site server functionality seems to be affected.  The content can still be accessed and the FrontPage search is still operational.  If I close FrontPage down and log back in, the communcation between the server and FrontPage is slower than a one legged turtle.  Here are the error messages that are displayed:

To resolve the problem the server must be rebooted.  This is on a dual-processor Windows 2003 Server running FPSE 5.0.2.5012.  Once the server is rebooted, everything is fine again until the another "find" is attempted.

If I preform the search from the web page that has the FrontPage search component on it, the problem DOES NOT occur.  I'm also able to query the catalog through the indexing service and the problem DOES NOT occur.  The problem only occurs when the find feature is used within FrontPage 2003 (version 11.5516.5703)
